Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Review 22 Dec 1910 p 8

James Scott died Thursday morning at 6 o’clock at his home in Clark’s Hill after a brief illness.  He attended a sale Tuesday and had a severe chill after returning home.  The immediate cause of death was heart trouble.  Mr. Scott was born in Ohio and was 79 years old last February.  He lost several fingers when he was a young man but this did not discourage or disable him and he worked at several trades.  He was an energetic, industrious and honest man and was a good citizen.  He leaves a widow and the following daughters: Hattie Hart and Bessie Yundt of Mulberry; Alice Sickler and Lizzie Derrick of Indianapolis and Zaidee Scott of Minneapolis, Minn.  The funeral was conducted from the UB Church in Clark’s Hill Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock and the interment was made in the Clark cemetery. – kbz
